Andrew,in partnership with Warrington libraries, we released some books into the wild in June. They were left in various school offices, canteens, the Wolves Stadium and council buildings. I hope people will register where they have found the books and we will be able to track progress - maybe even round the world. I have got one to leave at Heathrow airport.

Have you considering logging your books through www.bookcrossing.com? It's a great way of tracking where your book travels to next and what people think about it.

I have finally given up on Blood River by Tim Butcher. I really liked it at first but my interest has waned. It is a true story of a journalist following Stanley’s journey to find Livingstone in the Congo. The beginning, which gave all the background and history of the Congo, was interesting and the prospect of all the danger exciting, but then he started the journey - I have left him at Johannesburg airport. It's all too slow and I know he survives as he lived to write the book.

Just started Joanne Harris' latest book - Lollipop Shoes. Not sure I am going to like it. Seems a bit weird - magical powers. I think the characters are from Chocolate which I haven't read.
